NZ DIPLOMA IN JEWELLERY (LEVEL 6)
This program focuses on developing comprehensive construction skills required in goldsmithing and jewellery, to the required standard.
ABOUT THE COURSE
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN
You will use applied techniques to achieve complex mounts, manufacturing techniques, Rhino CAD and design projects that culminate in your capstone project. You will create a viable business plan to establish and develop your goals within the context of a proposed business plan.
Projects will be made entirely by hand or blended with other manufacturing techniques to produce viable jewellery designs to a brief.
This program is closely linked to employment-focused activities and will suit anyone who is considering goldsmithing and jewellery as a career.
Minimum Requirements -You must be 18 years of age or older, and have English at NCEA Level 3, as all tuition is conducted in English, completed NZ Diploma in Jewellery (Level 5) or demonstrated equivalent knowledge or skills.
Detailed Requirements - An audition is required and is free of charge. Prior experiences or achievements are not assessed unless requested.

COURSE COSTS AND MATERIALS
The school provides basic materials and common use tools required to complete the qualifications.
Students should also budget for additional materials up to $950.00 This can include, CAD, Hand tools, Stationery metals and stones.
Where students wish to manufacture jewellery that exceeds project specifications; those materials are not included.
Full tuition is given in material conservation and best practice management.
CREDITS & DURATION
This course is of 120 Credits.
Programme Duration - 1 Year
Self-employed or employed as a Goldsmithing Jeweller, Maker in associated creative industries.
Learners may wish to undertake further study with PMGS, in the field of wider jewellery techniques and their application.
